This bar indicates that you are within the PDS enterprise which includes 6 science discipline nodes and 2 support nodes which are overseen by the Project Management Office at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Each node is led by an expert in the subject discipline, supported by an advisory group of other practitioners of that discipline, and subject to selection and approval under a regular NASA Research Announcement.

NASA's Cassini spacecraft looks down and pictures Saturn wrapped in a pencil-thin shadow of the rings just days after the planet's August 2009 equinox. The moon Epimetheus (not shown) is casting a tiny shadow on the planet above the rings.

Although Epimetheus appears to be lurking above the rings here, it's actually just an illusion resulting from NASA's Cassini spacecraft viewing angle on July 26, 2015. In reality, Epimetheus and the rings both orbit in Saturn's equatorial plane.

NASA's Cassini spacecraft gazes into the blustery, ever changing atmosphere of Saturn as the tiny shadow of Epimetheus drifts across the cloud tops. The view looks toward a region in Saturn's atmosphere 24 degrees north of the planet's equator.
