This image shows an impact crater surrounded by smaller craters which are possibly secondaries from Rustaveli. The crater has a small central peak or floor mound, whereas the nearby craters are simple. The central crater has a sharper rim and fresher appearance than the other craters, suggesting that it is younger. The smaller craters are more degraded and less dramatic showing the passage of time on Mercury.

This image was acquired as a high-resolution targeted observation. Targeted observations are images of a small area on Mercury's surface at resolutions much higher than the 200-meter/pixel morphology base map. It is not possible to cover all of Mercury's surface at this high resolution, but typically several areas of high scientific interest are imaged in this mode each week.
