NASA's Mars Global Surveyor shows buttes and knobs of light-toned rock, perhaps sedimentary in origin, on the floor of Rabe Crater on Mars. The buttes and knobs are surrounded by dark, windblown sands that are crisscrossed dust devil tracks.
