MGS MOC Release No. MOC2-555, 25 November 2003 This Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC) picture shows layers exposed in the upper wall of a meteor impact crater, and the dry talus that has been shed from this layered slope. This September 2003 image is located near 30.2°N, 272.8°W. The image covers an area 3 km (1.9 mi) wide, and is illuminated by sunlight from the lower left.
