This image, taken by NASA's Dawn spacecraft, shows the rim of Ikapati Crater on Ceres (also featured in PIA20393). The rough features around the rim of this impact scar give way to smoother, lightly cratered terrain in the lower half of the image.

Dawn took this image on Jan. 24, 2016, from an altitude of about 240 miles (385 kilometers) in Dawn's low-altitude mapping orbit. The image resolution is 120 feet (35 meters) per pixel.

Dawn's mission is managed by JPL for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington. Dawn is a project of the directorate's Discovery Program, managed by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. UCLA is responsible for overall Dawn mission science.
